Sandals Royal Bahamian 11/11/03
Reviewers Rating: Great
Just returned from 5 days(Nov 2-7). This was our second trip to Sandals and returned for 2 reasons-1- the diving which I found last year was very good and 2- they comped us 2 free nights because of some minor problems we encountered last year. All in All the place is nice, people are attentive and food above average. However, weather this time stunk. Cloudy and rainy all week. We did stay outside and sat in the clouds and drank beer every afternoon. This time Sandals called a few days before we left and asked if we wanted to upgrade our room--we did--you don't. We got the same category room as we did last year but this time it cost us almost $400 more. When I asked they agreed to move us across the hall to the very same room and a view of the pool/ocean. We declined and stayed where we were. Windsor Block has nicer rooms. Stay there--but my opinion is pay for the cheapest room if you go and fax a request for an upgrade 5 days before you leave on the trip. All of the food was good (above average) nothing special--but this time Kimonos seemed the best.Baccarat has the best view. Baccarat and Crystal are supposed to white glove service. Service was ok but nothing special. Nightly entertainment was pitiful, except they had a lady vocalist that was excellent. All in All this Sandals is very nice--but as always weather has alot to do with how things do. I would not recommend Nassau to anyone that wants to go in November and see the sun. All of the dive people said November weather was always iffy.
