Comfort Suites, Paradise Island 01/27/03
Reviewers Rating: Excellent
We wanted the Atlantis Resort, but Virgin our tour operator did not win the contract for NEW YEAR 03. As the Comfort Suites had full use of the Atlantis facilities we thought we would give it a try. Virgin did us a favour. Fantastic staff very accomodating. Arranged a 40th cake and decorated the room for us. Very clean hotel. We stayed in new wing, but for what you stay in the hotel, it really doesnt matter. Free breakfast is great which inc Tea/Coffee/Juices plus as much toast, muffins and donuts as you want. This gave a good start, instead of queuing at the Atlantis. We were a family of 4 with two small children aged nearly 6 and 8 years. They had a ball. The walk over to Atlantis never bothered our children. It was about the same as the Beach Towers. Lots of life guard attendants. Our 6 year old was too short for the large slides, but there was enough to do on the smaller slides for him. The eight year old loved them all. Massive amazing place, never felt cramped as too huge. We lived a dined at the Atlantis. Lunch for the kids costs $5.99 for a burger & chips drink which for a resort of this type was OK. We kept to budget type restaurants, Seagrapes $34 adult & $15 child (great fun with clowns etc for kids and good buffet food). Atlas grill was nice and reasonably priced. Mama Loos Cantonnese was good, but could have done with hotter food served. We kept out of the expensive restaurants as with children would have been a waste. Didnt spoil our holiday though in any way. We visited from 27/12/02-5/1/03 & it was hot 80 degrees. The water was OK. Had a memerable time and would definitely recommend the experience of a lifetime. Comfort Suites was great, and the Atlantis was brilliant. No problems at all, wish we were there now. Would definitely go again and stay at C.S. A week is probably enough unless you go on trips out we found. Have fun and enjoy this review. The reviews I read before we travelled misled us. So here is the truth - its a fantastic water disneyworld type of resort that will stay with you forever and you DONT need to spend a fortune. Have fun. Darwen, Lancashire, England, UK.
