Saw your post about Atlantis
I am not a fan of fancy resorts and donlt like to overpay for resort food. I live in Key Biscayne FL and the local resort hotel charges $12 for bkfst. I tell tourists I meet to go to the Doughnut Gallery for a $3.50 bkfst
We spent 5 days in Paradise island last year on our boat. This year we plan to spend a day at the atlantis marina - 120 per day - 3 times the cost of the best marina I have ever been in. I want to see the attractions and you have to stay at the hotel or marina to get admission. Just at the base of the bridge - 5 min walk from Atlantis is a shopping center with 2-3 restaurants - just OK stuff - and a bkfst place. You can take the boat to Bay st at the base of the bridge - several good bahamian restaurants on the side streets.
Try the Nassau Yacht Haven - the quarterdeck I think.
All the food in bahamas is expensive. Local food is any type of fish - all good and fresh - with peas and rice. Try cracked conch - best in the world.
Walk over the bridge to the Nassau side and go below the bridge for the local farmers market. Buy conch raw or conch salad right out of the shell.
You can eat conch raw with a bit of lime juice.
The best food is the cheapest
Have fun

>I am thinking of staying at Atlantis in July. Can someone that has been let me know (you can email me) what kind of more "local" dining options are say a 5-10 minute walk from Atlantis. I am not interested in paying 36/46 for a buffet meal and would like to know what kind of local restaurants are nearby. Thanks.
