Also, I have read about someone right off the beach at the NBH - info?

Jeff,
My wife and I were there in December 97. We to Stuart Cove's one afternoon. Although they advertise the shark dive, the day we went we went to two sites. They were maybe a 20-30 minute trip. The first site we moored in maybe 40+ feet. The scuba diving was to follow the slope of the seabed to a drop off where a boat hull was hanging over (reported-not seen by us). Also, not too far from where we moored was a sunken boat (prob at 50') and also a prop used in a James Bond movie. In general the viz was very good.
The second site was shallower and closer inshore. More coral, etc.
All in all we thought it was pretty good (we liked it better than the Keys).
We made the reservation from our hotel and they picked us up in a van. Several other divers were people who lived on New Providence and Stuart Cove's ranked high with them.
Finally, the comments in the '99 edition of The Travelin' Diver's Chapbook from Undercurrents basically call it a well run operation. Most negative comments were about the resort facilities (South Ocean Resort) and not the diving. If you want to email me your address I'd be happy to send you a photo copy of the comments.
Good luck, Brock
