>>>Hey, I'm a Graphic Artist who has moved to Chicago, and I get excited when ever I see or hear of anything Bahamian. Being up here away from the Bahamas causes you to appreciate all of the culture the way of life and the people, we have in the Bahamas. January 22nd made one full year that I have been up here, causing me to miss junkanoo for the first time in life. So what my brother and I did was we actually got the 5 gallon water bottles cut the bottom and beat it as a drum, went to the bycicle shop got a horn for the whisles, and sprinkled glitter on ourselves while listening to some Bahamen going back to the Island'. What a ball we had. Of course for Christmas we had three cases of Kalik sent to us, with the Catfish we got we slammed together some boil fish and jonny cake, and some conch salad with no conch. And after that party was over we sucked that all down with some cunny cracker, which me of course the bartender whipped up. But to all out there I just want you to know I LOVE the Bahamas and want all those who haven't been there to slap a friend in the back and say "HEY I'm going to the Bahamas"

>Juama,
>Since you are such an enthusiastic local, would you mind recommending a secluded beach rental in the Nassau area? From my research so far, it seems such places are hard to find amidst all the resorts. We would love something peaceful, private, and with a local feel. I'd like any info on Makeba Beach Hotel, the Chaplin House, or any other good options. Thank you so much. By the way, I'm also in Chicago, dying to get to the beach!!! I'd like to try that Kalik, too.

I am an American living in Pennsylvania and I met a wonderful man in Freeport when I was there. He works at the Princess Casino hotel and I am going down there in March to see him. Everytime I hear about the Bahamas I literally jump too. I am currently trying to relocate to Ft. Lauderdale so that we can be closer together. I will be there for a week and I would gladly move to the Bahamas if the opportunity presented itself.
