ANY info you can share about snorkling, shopping, dining... where

Most cruise lines will try to talk you into signing up for their
tours. Most of the shopping activity is lacated right near where you
will be docked-Bay Street. They have a wide variety of things to
purchase from the Straw Market to the more expe$ive place$, (John
Bull, Columbian Emeralds, etc.) Sightseeing? You might want to try
the Coral Island Underwater Observatory, (at cost), the Hartley
Undersea Walk (at cost) the Ardastra Zoo (minimal cost), Parliment
Square, Fort Fincastle, the Queen's steps, the water tower (all
free), but nothing really to do but just go look and take photos.
The cruise line will try to get you to take a city tour. Most of the
places you can easily walk to. If needful, you can negotiate with a
taxi to take you to all of these places for a lot less money. Hop
over on a ferry to Paradise Island to the new Atlantis, (casino, and
a somewhat overpriced tour of the place). Food. As a cruiseline
passenger you have already paid for your meals. For a quick bite
while in town, there are some nice places right at or near the Straw
Market. Not knowing your tastes, nor your budget, I believe you can
find something you will like. Try Conch Fritters across the street
from the British Colonial on Bay St. or Skans on Bay St, east of the
Straw Market. There is also a KFC, a McDonald's, a Subway right there
in town. For shows, try the Crystal Palace on Cable Beach, The
hypnotist show is nice. Also at the Nassau Beach, the King & Knight
show is nice. A traditional Island show with fire dancing and music.
Cafe Johnny Canoe's has a nice band. Good food, good drinks. Also,
if so inclinded, try one of the island outings sometimes known as a
booze cruise, where they will take you to one of the very nearby
islands for an outing along with live music and rum punch. It can be
a lot of fun. I have been the cruise line route before. Drop me a
line if you need any other info. I'll be glad to help.
