My boyfriend and I went to the South Ocean Beach and Golf Resort July 1998. At this time they were going under some major renovations, hopefully should be done by now. Just a few points of interest: go for the ocean front rooms. They are well worth the extra money. Our first two rooms overlooked a pool under construction and the first one the air conditioning did not work. The resort is a little out of the way (it's not on the main strip) which might be nice if you're looking for a restfull location, however it's only 30 min to cable beach, where you can then go to Paradise Island. Cabs range in price from $20 - $50 U.S. make sure you barter, but even better if you want some excitement, take the bus for a couple of dollars. If you're interested in diving, some of the best shark diving is done right from this resort. Also note; the food is good at the hotel, however a little pricy (We paid $60 U.S. for 2 for a breakfast buffet) There are lots of great places to eat on the island that offer a different atmosphere as well. This location hit the spot for some rest, relaxation and romance so if you do decide to go, enjoy! If you have any other questions, email me direct.

I've done some research on the resort (formerly South Ocean Golf and Beach Resort) and have found favorable information on it, but would appreciate any other info anyone might have (especially if you have been there before). Thanks!
