If you are from the US and haven't been to the Bahamas before, you should realize they drive as the Brits do, on the left side of the road. Rentals cars are also very expensive. Last I heard they were going for $75 a day and up for compact cars. I would think a full size would be pushing $100 a day. You can probably find a cab driver and book him for a private ride for the group for $50-60 to cover 2-3 hours of touring. We did it on New Providence and saw the whole island for $50 (although we ended up giving the lady cab driver a $25 tip because she was so great about everything). Just food for thought. By the way, except for the cash we carry we go exclusively travelers checks and have been doing it for 20 years without problems.
