    >>Although elegant sounding, the Nassau Beach Hotel is in a "run down" mode - meaning that the sewage system is in shambles. While we were there our room had constant sewage smells coming from the water drains. The lobby of the hotel is quite elegant but the service was snobby at best and there is a surcharge for everything including using phone cards ($2.50 just to use it - we ended going to the Marriot next door to use the pay phone for free). The place must have been nice years ago but not now - even our sliding glass door to the patio was falling off of its rails. Rose Cay on the other hand, although deceiving in the price was quite beautiful.

My trip is scheduled in March, and of course, I am booked at this establishment. Honesty is great but, please, I am really looking for some good news. The thought of the smell of sewage awaking in the middle of the night is somewhat unappealing. Thanks for any info!

Hi: I have been on AOL and have received 99% good remarks about the Hotel. In fact the only down side was to be sure and request a room on either 1st of 2nd floor, otherwise good review. Nothing about a smell so hopefully all the bad issues have been resolved. We are going in April. Please let me know how you make out....Thanks Judy
